FloppyDisQ gives you a sampler, an audio/MIDI arranger, a mixer and a step sequencer in one landscape Android app. Start with a WAV, record a short sound or load a supported SFZ instrument pack. Then play it from the on-screen keyboard or switch to sixteen pads.
Start with one sound.
- Verify your email and download the Android APK.
- Start a new project, select a layer and load a WAV on WAVE, or capture a take on SAMPLE.
- Trim the useful part in EDIT. Play it on the keyboard or pads, record notes and arrange a pattern.
The app has sixteen layers with their own envelope, filter, level and pan. Key and velocity mapping let different recordings cover different notes. The live Time Engine offers classic playback, independent stretching and tempo-based sync, so a sample can become a texture, a loop or a playable part.
From a pattern to an arrangement.
The sequencer offers 4, 8, 16 or 32 ticks per bar, named patterns and step/bar transport. Use the audio/MIDI arranger for a longer project, with looping, markers and colored clips. The performance view includes a bar counter, quantize, metronome and count-in, with collapsible controls to make room for playing.
Keep your sounds with you.
Save projects in the local library and export a portable project with its audio for backup. Imported files are copied into the app’s private storage. Export before uninstalling or clearing app data. Android projects are not Mac plug-in presets; you can transfer WAV samples manually.
Can it sample sound from another app?
System playback capture needs Android 10 or later, screen-capture permission and a source app that permits capture. Microphone, app-output resampling and supported external input are separate recording paths.
Does it load every instrument library?
It supports a subset of SFZ with WAV sources, within a 64 MiB decoded-audio working pool. It does not stream huge instruments from disk or offer general SF2 import. Start with a small instrument or a few recorded samples.
What do I need?
Android 8 or later and a current Android System WebView. This development APK installs directly rather than through Google Play. Bluetooth headphones can add delay; use the phone speaker or wired/USB audio for a comparison when playing live.
