MACOS UNIVERSAL 2 AU / VST3 SAMPLER

One sound.
A playable instrument.

Free public beta through 28 April 2027. Email verification required. Shared fixed expiry, not six months from installation. No card, subscription or automatic renewal. Development builds.

FloppyDisQ is a sixteen-layer sampler instrument for a compatible Mac DAW. Load a recording, shape its start and loop points, map it across keys and play it as part of your session. The machine-style panel keeps the sound and its controls close together.

Try one sample in your session.

  1. Verify your email and download the macOS AU/VST3 ZIP and shared key.
  2. Quit your DAW, install the AU for Logic Pro or the VST3 for a compatible host, then restart and rescan if needed.
  3. Open FloppyDisQ, activate in SETUP → ENTER KEY, select a layer and load a WAV.

Use EDIT to trim, truncate or normalize the useful part. Envelopes, filters and modulation belong to each layer, so you can build an attack, a body and a texture without changing every sound at once. Set the root note and key range to keep each recording playable where you need it.

Give a recording a different pace.

The real-time Time Engine offers classic playback, independent stretch and pitch, and tempo sync. Forward, reverse and other loop modes let a recording become a repeating groove or a moving texture. Blend selected layers with slide and crossfade controls, and hear the result in the context of your DAW.

Choose the right platform.

This download is an AU/VST3 instrument plug-in, not a desktop standalone DAW. The Android release is a separate app with an arranger, mixer and sequencer. The workflows and project formats differ; WAV samples can be transferred manually.

Does it work on Intel and Apple Silicon?

The 0.22.13 bundles are Universal 2 for macOS 13 or later. Use the AU in Logic Pro or the VST3 in a compatible host. This is an ad-hoc signed development build and is not notarized; host and device compatibility testing continues.

Can I load multisampled instruments?

The sampler supports an SFZ subset with WAV sources. Keep the original SFZ and sample folders available: the current desktop preset exporter does not bundle all SFZ dependencies. It is not a general importer for every sampler format.

What happens at expiry?

The shared signed key expires on 28 April 2027 at 07:34:39 UTC. Paying or updating does not extend that date. Your projects and samples remain in place; a new valid owner-issued key can restore playback.
